Cholay Heaven

Cholay Heaven is a spicy sauté with a twist.

Spices used:

1/2 a teaspoon of Spicytude Garam Masala (for 1lb of Chickpeas )

1/2 a teaspoon of Mustard seeds

1/2 a teaspoon of Cumin Seeds

1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric

1 teaspoon of Kashmiri Chilli powder

1 Cinnamon Stick

2 Bayleaves (Dry or fresh)

Other Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of Olive oil or any other cooking oil

1 cup of chopped onion

1/2 teaspoon of salt or as per your taste

1lb. of boiled or canned chickpeas

1 cup of diced tomatoes

Process: 

Step 1: Tadka

Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a heated pan and then add half a teaspoon of mustard seeds, half a teaspoon of cumin seeds and let them splutter

Step 2: Sauté onion and spices

Add chopped Onion, Cinnamon Stick,  bay leaves,Turmeric, Kashmiri Chilli powder, Spicytude's Garam Masala and saute until the onion is golden brown.

Step 3: Cook

Add boiled or canned Chickpeas, tomato, salt and stir all the ingredients together and cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for ten minutes. Serve it with rice or bread.
