Chai Masala

Brewing Tips:

  • Chai is best made in batches, always brew at least 2 cups.
  • As you increase the number of cups, you can reduce the Chai Masala slightly.
  • For example: use 7 tsp of Chai Masala for 3 cups instead of 9.
  • Adjust milk, spice, and sweetness to suit your taste.
  • The boiling method gives a stronger flavor than steeping.
  • Use any strainer you have at home, such as a cocktail strainer.
  • Mix into hot chocolate, stir up a Chai-tini, infuse tres leches, or bake into cookies and pies. However you use it, make it yours.

Ingredients (one cup of chai)

  • ½ cup milk (whole, 2%, oat, soy, or your choice; add after brewing if boiling is not suitable) )
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ 2 tsp brown sugar (or add your preferred sweetener: honey, stevia, monk fruit, etc. after brewing if boiling is not suitable)
  • 2–3 tsp Spicytude Chai Masala (use 3 tsp for a stronger brew)

Brewing Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a pot, then place it on the stove over medium-high heat
  • Let it come to a boil. Lower the heat to prevent it from boiling over, stirring occasionally.
  • Adjust the heat as needed and bring it to a rolling boil. This takes about 5–6 minutes. Turn off the stove once you see a golden brown color.
  • Pour it through a strainer into a cup. Serve hot, or cold over ice.
