Chicken Tikka Masala - the spicy, creamy and delicious chicken dish!

Spices used for marination:

Spicytude Garam Masala - 1 tsp

Turmeric - 1/2 tsp

Coriander Powder - 1 tsp

Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp

Spices used in sauce:

Spicytude Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp

Turmeric - 1/2 tsp

Coriander Powder - 1 tsp

Cumin powder - 1 tsp

Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

Other ingredients:

Olive Oil - 4 Tablespoons

Onion (finely chopped) - 1 cup

Tomato puree (fresh) - 2 cups

Ginger paste - 2 tsp

Garlic paste - 2 tsp

Cilantro - 1/4  cup to garnish

Salt as per your taste

Yogurt - 1cup

Cream - 1 cup

Chicken  cut into thin pieces - 1lb.

Process:

Step 1: Marinate the chicken

Add all the spices for marination, ginger paste 1 tsp,  garlic paste 1 tsp, yogurt 1 cup and salt to the Chicken and marinate at least for an hour or over night if you have time.

Step 3: Pan fry the chicken

Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a heated pan (thick pan or skillet) and add marinated chicken pieces and fry them for 5 to 6 minutes (flip them in between) until they are well cooked. Remove the chicken pieces from the pan on to a plate.

Step 3: Cook the sauce and chicken together

Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the same pan and add onion and sauté them on a medium flame until they are soft and translucent (takes at least 5 minutes). Then add ginger paste 1 tsp and garlic paste 1 tsp and sauté for another two minutes.Then add the spices for marination and cook for another minute. Add tomato puree and cook everything together for another 5 to 8 minutes until the puree thickens. Now add the pan fried chicken and stir everything together and cook for another three minutes. Add the cream, stir everything together and cover the dish with a lid. Let it cook on simmer for another 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 4: Garnish and serve

Garnish the dish with cilantro and serve it with rice or Naan.
