Paneer Tikka Masala

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2.5 lb of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 4 tbsp of any cooking olive
  • Spicytude Tikka Masala Spice Mix (2 sachets)
    1. Sachet 1 - Spice Mix to marinate protein
    2. Sachet 2 - Spice Mix to cook onions and tomatoes
  • ½ cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 tsp of garlic minced or crushed or paste
  • 2 tsp of ginger minced or crushed or paste
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 2 cups of finely chopped onion
  • 3 cups of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of chopped cilantro to garnish

  • 1 big pan to cook.

Step 1: Marinate and saute paneer

Mix yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste and sachet 1. Spice Mix to marinate protein. Pour marinade over the paneer, mix thoroughly and let it marinate for 30 min to an hour. Add two tablespoons of oil to a heated pan over medium flame and add paneer pieces in batches. Saute for a minute or less on all sides or until they start browning, set aside in a separate bowl.

Step 2: Cook onions, tomatoes and paneer

  1. Add two tablespoons of oil to the same heated pan and saute onions, once the onions are golden brown, add tomatoes, sugar and sachet 2. Spice Mix to flavor the onions and tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are cooked well, blend everything into a smooth paste.
  2. Put the blended onion and tomato sauce in the same heated pan and add the sauteed paneer. Let it cook for ten minutes on a medium flame, turn down the flame to low. Add cream and mix well. Cook for another three minutes, turn off the stove and garnish with cilantro.
  3. Serve with your choice of rice or naan or any other bread.
